Nyngan with a population of more than 3000 has many local events:

Within a 2-hour drive of Nyngan you can get to a number of outback centres which have regular events and local attractions: Bourke, Cobar, Coolabah (Goat Races in June), Dubbo, Gilgandra, Hermidale, Macquarie Marshes, Narromine, Nevertire, Nymagee and Warren.
